"tow package" consist of larger oil cooler and higher capacity radiator and alternator. from what I know, Lexus decided to make "tow package" for RX standard starting 2013 so there will no longer be an option list. my guess is you already have a tow package if you have the "plug-in" for your oem wires.

first thing I did for 2010 RX in 2009 was to add a CURT hitch [$125] and $40 oem cable. it's fairly easy to install except for middle part you will have to cut-out. there are few step-by-step instructions on this site. 1-2 hours for anyone who know how to use a wrench and a box cutter.

My 2015 has it on the option list.

My 2015 does not have it, I check the left font fender well and there is no cooler installed, simple vents you can see through.
It was a purchasable option when order. I checked my VIN also.
I am concerned simply adding the aftermarket tow bar without the tow package, then having warranty issues that they could point fingers at and may not cover.

Thanks

Thanks for recommending Curt Hitch. The Curt installation video seems pretty straightforward so I will tackle this install myself.

I just ordered the Curt Hitch 13143 on Amazon for $120 with $20 off coupon. I'm just using this to mount the Allen 4-bike hitch mount rack (ordered today as well).

I'm going to be towing my motorcycle. If it was just a bike carrier then that would be the way to go.
Traveling to Vegas and Arizona I like knowing I have the cooler added for the heat.
Thanks

I just checked and my wife's 2015 RX 350 has the same cooler. So I guess our RX has transmission cooler also which is a big plus because I just installed the hitch.

Ordered the hitch from Amazon yesterday and it's delivered today. Got a love Amazon Prime!

It's pretty straightforward install. I think the hardest part was removing the plastic undershroud.

Hey guys, does the RX 350 already have the hitch connector which we can just buy an adapter and plug it in? Or do we need to get the custom T connector? Thanks.

Yes, our '15 has a plug behind the right tail light, should I decide to use my wife's $50K Lexus as a tow pig.

Pretty easy to cut the the plastic shroud before you put it back on?

Thanks. Good to know that's it there if I ever need it.

Yes, very easy. I used a dremel.

I thought the cut out guidlines provided by Curt were too big.
Only downside with my install experience.
Do your own measurement(s) for a better fit.

Thanks. The one video I watched it looked to me like it was bigger than it needed to be.

I installed a hitch on my X3 and I had to cut some plastic on it. It always irked me a bit looking at it as the plastic was thick and not easy to cut and it didn't look great. That being said, when I sold it the buyer didn't complain.

UHaul installs a Curt hitch and wiring for under $200.
