2013 CPO with 42,000 miles. Is the price too much?
First, my apologies if this question is posted in the wrong section.
We test drove a really clean 2013 RX 350 AWD this afternoon. It's a Lexus CPO, one owner, just off three year lease.
It has Navigation and Park Assist.
It has 43,000 miles and the asking price was $33,000.
I made a cash offer of $30,000 OTD. (sales tax is not part of the OTD price in our state)
The salesman said he "might" be able to reduce the price by $500, but no more that.
Is $32,500 high for that RX with 43,000 miles?
Would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks

Well, it depends a bit on how it's optioned, but that doesn't sound too bad to me. There's a CPO '13 near me with 42k miles for $36k.

OP, We too are in the market for another Lexus RX 350. The 2013/2014 years are our favorite. The price of $32,500 for a CPO, RX with those options and that mileage is reasonable. It's not great, but you're not getting ripped off. A lot depends on where you are located and how many Lexus dealers there are in your area. Here in Raleigh there's only one so they set the local prices and the do take advantage of that situation. However, if we travel out of state, the prices can change considerably. We found they can move as much as 10% if we travel to Atlanta or PA.

Every time I get close to convincing myself to splurge on the Lexus, I get nervous thinking that for the same amount of money we could buy a pretty decent "brand new" vehicle.
I'm caught in the "life is short" vs. being "practical and prudent" dilemma.

The Lexus dealer called and they have another. This one is a 2014 RX 350 AWD with Comfort and Premium Pakage w/ Blind Spot Monitor and Navigation. Has 10,000 miles, one owner personal lease.
They are asking $38,600.

We got our 2013 RX with 36k miles on February this year for $31,700 + Taxes and fees. My options are below on my sig. However, mine is not CPO. Another important point for us is the car need to be local. We're from WA state so we prefer to buy a used car that the previous owner drives in WA state. We looked on several other cars and all of them are off-lease from auction out of state. Most of them are in crappy condition, that's why i think they got thrown into the auction.
I agree with the others, different region have different market prices.

That's a lot for that truck IMO.
We just sold a 13 with 17K for $33K. I'd think closer to the $31K mark is more like it.
The 2014 is also a bit spendy.. closer to the $37-37,5 mark is more realistic.

I get your point on the 'brand new' vehicle. But, one thing about the RX's, they seem to hold their value. IMO, buying a year or two old vehicle, someone else has taken the hit on depreciation. Yeah, it's nice to have that new car smell, and maybe bragging rights, but financially, not sure I'll buy another new one. I paid $35.2 for a $53k car. I may incur cost for new tires and brakes two years earlier, but I saved 17k. I looked at a new Acura for about the same money, but as soon as I drove it off the lot it depreciated big time.
Good luck!

+111eleventy-one!!
The dealer where we got our 2015 F-Sport CPO was ~$5K lower than neighboring dealers on similar cars. So when folks post up about deals they're seeing, it always looks high to me. What about other dealers near you? Or a little further away?
This dealer had a 13 F-sport with 20-some K mi, asking ~$35K. This was in Greenwich CT 2 months ago.
