Tire Rotation
Retired and not putting a lot of miles on my 2015 RX 350, I am now at the 18 month service interval. The service recommendation is a tire rotation but I've only put on 2000 miles in the last six months (12 month/10,000 mile service). Is it really necessary to do the rotation even though it has been six months, but only 2,000 miles? Thanks....

^^ I agree, at 2,000 miles I wouldn't rotate unless as already mentioned it was free. I don't remember if a rotation is included in one of the first two free services. I usually rotate between 5,000 - 7,500 miles.

Well, there can be a differing view. In some cases, a vehicle may have been driven in the city, only, and very hard, but not for a lot of miles. That situation may call for a rotation. The OP does not seem to be the kind of person who abuses his car, so I am with the previous posters. Just sayin'...

My neighbor is a WWII vet, 90 years old.
Owned a blue Tacoma, think it was a 2011 or maybe an 2012.
So, one day I noticed the truck was grey and I asked him if he got his truck painted.
He said, "No, that's a new one. It was time to trade the old truck, those tires had 30,000 miles on them."

If you are uncertain, take your car to America's Tire or Discount Tire (same company) and they will measure the wear difference between the front and rear tires. If there is no measurable difference, they will advise you to return around 5,000 miles. We too are retired and there is an adjustment period where we have to learn to not take our cars in so often because we're not driving them as much.
