Default Excessive wear on leather seats for leased car

Hello there, I have leased a certified preowned RX-350 (2013) from one of the dealership in Canada last month. I am happy about the car overall but there are couple things worrying me. There is an excessive wear on the leather seats (there were cracks on the leather of all seats which I mentioned to the sales person and he said it was OK). But I would like to make sure if I won't be hold responsible for these cracks at the end of my lease. The car is still under full warranty. Should I take it in for repair?

Best regards,
Matthew

Yes, by all means. This is not normal. Even for our old 2000 LX470 with 280k+ miles when we traded in in 2013 for a brand new LX570, the seats had no cracks even with our three kids basically grew up with it from birth. Of course we took good care of the LX inside and out throughout the years. It had a light tan interior which is one of the worst color to take care of.

If you do some searching you will find that this is very common on the RX350. I assume you have Parchment (tan) or Gray. Take a look in the detailing sub-forum https://www.clublexus.com/forums/aut...detailing-122/

It is dirt in the cracks that makes them look much worse.
I think if you treat them with some leather cleaner it will remove much of the dirt from the cracks and they will not look nearly as bad.

Here is a sticky on our leather https://www.clublexus.com/forums/aut...s-leather.html
Look at post 399.

It will be considered normal wear and tear at lease end.

As far as the seats and whether or not they should have been reconditioned, that I can't say without seeing a picture of the seat.
