Best analogy is water and pipes.
When you check voltage, it is like testing pressure with no flow ... a tiny passage will allow the pressure to be there.
Shop will do a load test [draw current and register voltage] ... in our analogy ... turn the tap on and measure the pressure under flow ,,, and also measure the flow rate.
To eliminate other possibilities, the test should be done after a decent attempt to charge the battery.

Walmart. Never had a problem with their batteries and plus Walmart is everywhere. All automotive batteries are made by Johnson Controls, Exide or East Penn Mfg. No matter who puts their name on it.

Lexus service records for my wife's recently-acquired 2015 RX350 FWD (built in Canada in July 2015) show that the factory battery was replaced under warranty in February 2018 at just 29,640 miles. It apparently failed their tests during the vehicle's routine 30,000-mile service. It appears that Lexus would have done us all a favor by selecting a better-quality battery when these vehicles were built.

Our 2015 RX battery was replaced under warranty at about 3 years 32k miles. Car is used daily. Any modern car with electronics and keyless entry that frequently sits for days needs a battery tender, IMO.
My personal resident - my 911 is going to sit for 3 or more days, I plug in the battery tender. Lexus uses AGM batteries. I use a CETEK 4.3 set for the higher voltage required for AGM batteries.

How do you know this is an AGM battery in our 2015 RX350? I see no AGM designation on its label. The aftermarket Bosch AGM battery that I installed in my wife's 2006 Jaguar XK8 in July 2018 is clearly marked "AGM" on its label.

My Lexus is also a 2015 RX350 and it does not have an AGM battery. AGM is not the only battery that Lexus uses.

Just spoke with a Lexus master tech at our local dealership. Only the RX450h came with the AGM battery (because it is inside the cabin). All 2015 RX350s came from the factory with a standard lead acid battery.

OEM battery took crap accurate on 6th year anniversary from in-service date.
Shopping for a new battery on Advance Auto Parts website and see that this vehicle is not eligible for in-store installation due to the need to reset computer. Can anyone confirm if this vehicle requires battery coded similar to that of BMW? Trying to figure out if I tip the counter guy to install if he is going to fry any electronics or the RX really need to be taken to the shop.
Also, does anyone have specs and size of the factory battery? Specifically group size ID and Cold Cranking Amps.
See no value on getting AGM or fancy Optima, just good old Gold or Platinum with 3 yr free replacement should do.

I just picked up a Bosch AGM from Pepboys for GS. Order on line and save $40, pickup in store and get another $40 mail in visa card.
Make sure the terminals are on the same side and are not reversed.

You may loose all your settings, so consider getting a "memory saver." It's a device you plug into the OBD plug while the battery is disconnected, and it supplied power to the car computer memory. Just google "car memory saver" for more info.
