On the RX? I'll leave it to the dealer until the powertrain is out of warranty. I believe they only charge 60-70 for a blend. After warranty, probably the same oil I use on my IS. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum (the black bottle) w/ a Lexus filter, probably will use 0w20 in the RX vs the 5w30 I use in the IS.

just wondering which oil filter you guys use when use 0w20 Full synthetic oil. If you use Oil filter for synthetic or the regular one. There is a price difference between both.

Thinking about that now, 5w20 would be fine here. Probably would burn it a little less in the long run.

I use to change my own oil and filter but this way is well worth $20. I go to Walmart and buy Mobil 1 in a five quart jug and one extra quart for $31. Than go to Lexus Parts World and buy your $5 oil filter. Use cl5 in promo code to get your 10% discount. Than take everything to a local Toyota dealership who will charge you $20 in labor.

I used to use Schaeffer oil and their Neutra fuel system additive/cleaner and bought them by adding on to the yearly oil purchase of my friend's father who has a farm and commercial fishing business in Southern Maryland. Great products. recall way back when I first joined it that www.bobistheoilguy.com was started by Bob who was a Schaeffer distributor. My replacement vehicles oil requirements were not met by Schaeffer at the time (first a MINI Cooper turbo then Lexus 0w20 synthetic) and I moved on to other sources. I see they make an 0w20 Synthetic and may have to get a couple cases through him next Spring.

The Fram Extra Guard is the same design as the Lexus OEM oil filter and some at bobistheoilguy.com think it flows oil better due to the lack of end caps. Note that it only has a small glue circle around the inner hole to keep it together so the rest of the ends are open to allow oil flow not only through the sides but the ends. The Fram Ultra and several others such as Mobil 1 have the solid end caps. I did use the Fram Ultra filter one time and did not notice any difference in engine operation, noises or time for the oil light to go out.
I just bought a couple of K&N in their newer design which is the same as OEM but uses a synthetic media. The older K&N version had solid end caps. http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?prod=PS-7020
