Default Navigation with Napoleon syndrome

Most times, I leave my nav unit display off. As I've commented before, Lexus nav system simply blows. However, whenever I use my phone to receive a call or to make a call, the nav system turns on the map as soon as I hang up the phone. It's super annoying. What does it think it is, some kind of Hal or AI or something?

Anyone know how to turn this annoying feature off?

P.S. the nav system should simply take addresses or place names and tell me how to get there without my touching any keys. Like Google maps. but that's a topic for another thread.

It should be in the settings under "screen" or something. If I remember there was an "auto map on" setting, with that you're able to turn it on/off. I might be wrong though.

There is a "auto change" mode in there. But that is set to "off" already. I don't think my problem is dealing with that. It's just that maps comes on specifically after I hang up the phone.

I really don't like Lexus maps/nav feature and want to turn it off and don't want it to come back and give me bad software trauma. I want this thing OFF. Help!

Nope. I still have the same issues. I assuming most RX drivers are not distracted by this or this does not occur to everyone...

MellonC00, maybe it's time to contact the technology specialist at the dealer and see what he/she says. You're probably among the minority that wants the screen off.
