Question About CD Player - RX350 2010
I just purchased a pre-owned 2010 RX-350 to replace my 2001 RX-300, and am in the process of trying to learn all the new features. I am having a problem trying to figure out the CD player. There are 3 configuration types listed in the manual, none of which match what mine looks like. The one I have does not have buttons 1-6, so I am assuming it is a single CD player but not sure. I have the nav system, and know that there are some feature differences in ones with and ones without, but cannot find info in the manual. Also, are the CDs loaded right side up or upside down? I know this sounds like a silly question, but the CD cartridge in my RX-300 used the upside down load. Thanks for any help you can provide. My old brain is having issues with the newer technology.

I too have a 2010 with Nav and I have a 6 CD changer. You load the CDs with the labels facing up. Please post a photo of your CD player. I thought all units with Nav had the 6 CD changer. I would go the the Lexus owners site, register and enter your VIN to learn what options are on it and to see the service history from Lexus dealers as it is stored there. You also may want to check some of their online manuals and videos. http://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/

Thank you for the reply. I have attached a picture of my dash CD. I tried to register on the Lexus owners site, but it is currently down. I'll try to visit again later and set if it is functioning.

No, I don't play soccer!
gailevans, welcome to CL and congrats on the new RX. Yours should have the 6 CD changer. To the right in your picture is a LOAD button. Press and wait for the light to turn from red to green in the CD slot. Then you can load the CD. Repeat until you have all six in there. The button on the left with the arrow is to eject the CDs. While having the removable cartridge was convenient on the 1RX, I always worried about dropping and breaking it. I think you'll find the built in 6 CD changer a bit better on the 3RX.
Since the Lexus site is down, give Customer Service a call at (800) 255-3987. They can probably send the information to you via e-mail.

I hope that's not the case and would appreciate any tips for getting my CD player to work! It looks exactly like the one pictured above in the previous posts.

Once you hit the load button, you have to start shoving the CD into the player until the player decides to accept and load it. It is a stupid design and a PITA. I don't pay attention to the lights, I just hit the button and push the CD in the slot unitl it gets grabbed and sucked in to the player. It may take several attempts to make it take a disk. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip, I will give this a shot. No lights turn on when I press the load button and the little door in the slot doesn't do anything. Do I just physically push thru the door with the CD?

Yes, use a slight pressure shoving the CD into the slot while hitting the load button until the CD changer decides to accept the disc.

Our 2010 CD player had given up several months ago so yesteday I took some time and reviewed all the posts I could find regarding what turns out to be a problematic CD changer. Following a 5 months period where the car was not used (while we were in our winter home) we decided to combine our homes and cars into our home here in the Phoenix area and now that both cars are back in use, the subject of the inoperative CD came up. I first tried pulling the main audio fuse for 15 minutes hoping that would reset the unit, but no. So I unhooked the battery negative cable and waited a half hour and reconnected it and Yes, it came to life. The screen displayed notices that it was rebuilding and to not exit or tun off until it was completed. When the noise quit, I pressed eject and here they come, one right after another. Reinserted one and yes, it plays. Problem solved. Plus as a bonus I did not have to re-energize the windows and sunroof. Their settings were safe. So, thanks to those who took the time to post their cures - I found one that worked. and no huge repair bill.
