I purchased the following parts to mirror the screen of my nexus 5x (not mhl compatible) on the navigation screen. I do not have the rear headrest av players in my car. Just the front nav screen which can play DVDs.
From all the research that I have done, I should be able to mirror my phone screen to the nav screen, while the vehicle is parked and the parking brake is engaged. But for some reason the video is not being displayed. I can hear the audio fine, no issues. Also, I have tried to swap the yellow and red cables of the composite cable (as other permutations as well) as suggested in some other forums. That did not helped too. I have also checked each component individually and they are all working in the house, so they are all correctly functioning parts.
Am I missing something? is video no available through the aux jack in the center console? do I have to change some other settings for this to work?
Please help me if somebody has done something similar.

Best way to find out if your aux supports av is very easy. Change the mode on your unit and it will have av and aux option. If you don't have the av option then your aux doesn't support av via the aux input. Just to be 100 percent sure, make sure your parking brake is on when you are testing. There's nothing wrong with your setup, the only issue might by your rca to aux line. I had the same issue. I got 5 of those line and only 1 of them ended up working.
This one below is the only one that works for me. Seems the AUX input or the converter box is very picky on the RCA cable. Good Luck.
