so my RX started having issues starting and I took a look under the hood and found the positive terminal was completely corroded. I started to disconnect it so I can clean it but it was gone to far and it broke off, whats my best option in fixing it myself? Do the cables need to be replaced?
(that also fits most Japanese cars) and put it on my Toyota cars .. you might want to keep the original bolt/nut on your car to connect to the existing battery cable ... don't forget to coat the battery posts & connectors with silicon grease to prevent corrosion ...
Hyundai/Kia battery terminal set that also fits most Japanese cars ...

If you do it yourself you should have a crimper. The single most important thing on a cable is the connection between itself and the bolt/clamp. If you don't have one you can still do it, but it will not be very good or last very long. I'd buy a new good one, they are not expensive. Also I'd replace the negative one as well, it's probably due anyway.
Well, you should have greased post and terminal inside with dielectric grease, set terminal all the way down to the battery top, driven screw at the angle in through the terminal(clamp) into the post to prevent upward self migration from vibration and sprayed over with battery terminal protector, purple stuff. THEN your terminal will NEVER corrode.
Just saying.

Good advice, I will be going back over it to do so, just took a long time to get the parts. Thanks.
Thanks for all the replies, I replaced the cable going to the starter and also cut and crimped the cable going to the wiring harness.
Hello, just a question with the OEM style terminal how do you connet the two cable ends do you stack them on top of.the bolt then put the nut on or do you have ro remove the bolt inside the terminal first put on one cable end on and put the other end on top.

Cable corrosion. I've also had that problem however it wasn't an RV but the and the cable was outside water climbed from the battery all the way about 6 ft up the wire so check for water just saying there are other reasons for corrosion that you could follow to all them steps them guys are telling you the right thing to do but they're all so is this one other thing it's called water it goes up wires just saying
