My 2013 RX450h has the HID low beams. But the fogs were halogens.
I changed the fogs to LEDs. I had a hard time matching with the same color as the HID low beams and the DRL's. At the end I just went with aftermarket $69 per pair 6000K LEDs found on Amazon. Three years later, they are still running strong!!! I did the same for my LX570 which had HIDs in the low beam, but halogens with the fogs. On my CT200h, none were HID as all were halogens. I changed the low beams and fogs to LEDs and left the high beams halogens.
Get the FANLESS LEDs. See my prior posts on the LEDs.

following this dialog, I replaced my halogen bulb with HID replacements from Xenon depot. It's been about 90K miles since installation and I see that the light intensity is beginning to dwindle just a tiny bit. Do you think that is about normal?

Yes, they fade over time. Even the factory HID bulbs which are D4S should be replaced after several years, or that many miles as they gradually lose brightness.
