USB and Play Lists?

USB and Play Lists?
I finally decided to load a bunch of music on a thumb drive, because I've been having issues with my phone disconnecting. I discovered the playlists either don't load or have minimum number of songs, sometimes even only one! I'm using a 16GB thumb drive with about 12 playlists. Sometimes, one song will start to play and keeps repeating without loading any additional ones. I'm having this issue with both my RX and GS, so there has to be something with the way I'm doing things! Anyone else having this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

You can only have one folder depth per playlist for the Lexus system to read your music. You cannot have folders within folders. That confuses it.
Thus you need a folder for one Playlist or Artist, or Album containing all the MP3 songs.
I have flash drives full of music in both mine and that is how I was told to load them and have no problems.

I have no idea. I have only used MP3. Consider that this is a crude and archaic infotainment system. The owners manual may have more info, but I suspect it cannot read m4a files and that is your problem. You need to convert them to mp3.

Manual covers this as well as other restrictions. This example may not be for the models and years of your vehicles but you can certainly refer to the one specific to your model, year and equipment (i.e. if you have nav then you want to check the nav manual):

Acutally a little over 1 decade but not quite 2 yet. By, yeah, you can't rely on assuming that something has been aroung a long time and should be supported in your vehicle. Auto manufacturers always significantly lag behind -- even the ones at the head of the pack at adopting new infotainment tech and Lexus isn't anywhere close to the head of the pack. Back when our 2008 400h was new no one had been using cassettes for ages and yet Lexus still equipped it with a tape deck. Our 2015 is definitely better but even for 2015 its system was dated.

Well duhh, that's because Lexus owner is rather advanced age and may STILL listen to tape. You want fancy gizmos, got to go Tesla route. Those are made for young generations that require hi tech entertainment. Lexus is a retirement car for many people.
That said, My Camry (2007) and my Highlander (2012) had no problems reading multiple folders on 16Gb stick. Plugged into my 2015 NX200, same stick shows only quarter of folders I have on it. No idea.
