2014 RX450H Alignment Question
Hi, I have questions regarding alignment and camber adjustment. Any advice will be appreciated.
I have a four wheel alignment done on my 2014 RX450H yesterday. Here is the aligment print out.
After the alignment, the camber and caster are still out of range. The shop told me that the caster is not adjustable while suggested to install a camber bolt kit to correct the camber problem. They quote me $620 for installing camber bolts.
I wonder if with a -2.0 camber, is it really warrants a correction via installing a camber bolt? And is $620 a reasonable quote?

^^^^^ Welcome to Toyota. Become a believer.
OP, camber bolt kit is around $30-40 aftermarket. They are rather easy to DIY install, as far as you have proper tools, as in - breaker bars, 19mm sockets and wrenches, etc. You replace upper strut to knuckle bolt with camber bolt.
Far I know, across the lineup, Toyota spec for camber is 1 degree or right around it, on negative side. Basically, vertical tire UNDER LOAD, slight inward upper edge lean. Adds stability in turns.
Ok, so after you had camber bolt installed, and you can use same ones sold for Highlander, for less $$, you must take to alignment shop. You won't be able to set camber without alignment lift, as car has to be full weight on all four wheels. Good luck doing that crawled under the car with spirit level. Les Schwab here wanted $180 to install camber bolts onto my Camry. I did install myself for the cost of $27 and my time. Then paid them $78 for alignment.
Now, you have shocks in the rear. How to adjust camber there, that I do not know. But your spec for rear is not that much off, really. So keep rotating tires twice a year, but do have front camber bolts done. Or, you WILL eat through tires.
