Default Looking to buy 2010-2015 RX, What features should I target, what to look out for?

I'm looking to purchase a used 2010-2015 clean RX since I would rather not spend more than $15k. What do I need to be aware of in regards of mechanical issues and costly repairs and what features should I try to find?

Welcome to CL. As this has been asked almost weekly for years, I recommend you first scan the thread titles and also do some searching on this forum. I do not want to go into detail reinventing the wheel again. Get a 2013 or newer as that is after the refresh.

However, they are very reliable with no known issues except early rear shock leaking on some vehicles and sometimes the timing cover has a small oil seep that is not harmful and cannot really be seen, but costs thousands to fix as the engine must be pulled. If you get one with the tow package, be sure to replace the rubber oil cooler lines with the new metal ones. There is an extended warranty on the hose from Lexus, but when they fail, your engine is destroyed from oil loss by the time you see the oil light. So it is an important item.

You want the heated ventilated seats, auto on wipers, and Nav only because it has a better audio and easier access to features thru the Nav screen. The Nav itself is a POS. Your phone is better.

It will be very difficult to find a clean 2013-2015 model for 15K.
That pretty much leaves you with the 2010-2012, and even then you're looking at cars with around 100,000 miles to meet that price.
I do think you could find a good 2010-2012 for that price though if you're patient and wait for a good one that checks out.

As far as features, someone please correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like...
99.9% of RX's have the "premium package" (as you don't ever really see them with cloth interior).
99.9% of RX's don't have the Luxury Package, Heads Up Display (HUD), Pre-Collision System, or Rear Seat DVD System

So that just leaves you with these options to consider:
AWD, Comfort Package (or individual components of it), Navigation (Includes backup camera + 12 speaker upgrade as well, I believe), 19" Wheels, Towing Prep Package, Parking Sensors, Power Folding Mirrors, Wood and Leather Trimmed Steering Wheel and Shift ****, and Mark Levinson Sound System.

They did change the packages around just a bit from year to year... You can see the brochures for each year on the Lexus website.
