Will be buying a RX 350 2013 w 29k miles (previous Infiniti owner until son totaled😡
never bought a VSC & want to know what tends to need repair. Skeptical of VSC offer of 37 months w 37k miles for $2,675. Have seen better VSC deals on other forums.

Save your money. It is among the most reliable vehicles ever made. You are throwing your money away if you spend that much for a VSC. Just put the money in a CD instead. In 37k more miles you will only have 66k miles. Nothing is going to break at 66k miles if you do the required maintenance.
My 2010 has just hit 60,000 and all I have spent money on are wear items like the battery, brakes, oil changes, filters, tires and wipers, same as any vehicle. Nothing has broken.
Well except the infamous Lexus rear leaking shocks, but those are cheap to replace, under $300 even if you go to a dealer.

VSC? Vehicle Stability Control? Far I know, it's not a part, it's program. Computer algorithm that controls how each wheel responds to driving conditions. Never heard of it to be "purchased". VSC works through ABS and brake actuator components. Hence, I am really not sure how you can "buy"one?

It would really depend on what the terms of the contract are and what is actually covered for service.
If it's just doing what the manual says to do every 5k miles I would say skip it.
However, if it covers things like minor body work for dings and chips it may be worth it.

Nope - you probably don't need it. An 2013 RX is unlikely to turn into a basket case in 36 months. You might even have the balance of the manufacturer's warranty remaining.
Also, even if something does go wrong, I'm not even sure what they will cover. I've had to deal with insurance in the past, and the amount of paperwork and hassle needed to get reimbursed on claim wasn't worth the hassle.

You will probably run into suspension issues around 60-70k mark but most are relatively cheap to repair. For the price, I don't think its worth it. There is a thread on this forum which has a guy selling lexus platinum VSC for a good deal, do a search. He sold me a VSC when I purchased my 2013 Rx @45k ODO miles for around $1000.00 (bumper to bumper coverage up to 75k/6years) So far I've used it to cover rear shocks and front struts with other minor suspension parts. I would say I got my 1k worth with another year/9k left on the contract.
Side note: I only purchased mine cause I felt that it was a good deal. Vehicle was second hand so I don't know how the previous owner had taken care of it. Record did show that it was maintained regularly with oil change at dealership but even then I figured that at $1000.00, it was worth the security in the event that something major was wrong with the car. Search for Dimitry @ Toyota of greenfield.
