Hi,
I am using an iPhone X with the latest firmware and driving a base RX350 2015 (No NAV).
My phone pairs successfully with the car, plays music. The problem starts with phone calls. whenever a phone call starts, I can't hear anything and the other side cant hear me. The odd thing is that the system entertainment system is connected to the phone and recognizes the phone call (the phone call time progress, I can hang up). I can also start phone calls from the entertainment system, And again once an audio suppose to go through the system (dial tone or the phone call itself) I can't hear a thing.
So t sum up - phone is paired, audio stream works, the system recognizes the phone and controls it, NO IN&OUT audio during phone call.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

As Android guy, I have been through this. BT connection on phone has two allowances to be chosen by phone owner: Use for phone calls and Use for Audio. So both have to be OK-d to allow each function. Also, on wife's RX and on my then Highlander (2012) and on my now NX, I have to add two items - Phone AND Player. If both are not done, one of the features will not function.
But that's on Android. Know nothing of i-Phones and don't really want to.
PS. Not allowances. Permissions. They are under Bluetooth>whatever is the name for your vehicle connection>Settings for that connection.

Next time you're on a call, try selecting the RX's bluetooth as the audio source on the iPhone itself. It should be doing this automatically -- especially if you're making the call using the RX's bluetooth. If that fails, try the usual reset of the phone and try again.
I'm not aware of any permissions requirements on IOS.

Thanks. As was mentioned, there is no separation for Audio player/phone in iPhone.
I tried the reset thing and also choosing BT from the phone. Nothing worked.
Thanks guys. Would appreciate any other ideas out there.

Well, wife has 2011 RX350 and i-phone. It took me prolly ten attempts to connect it to the vehicle to operate properly. Thereafter, it keeps dropping phone. As in - yeah, it sort of "knows it" but does not connect to it or uses as Audio player. I had it reconnected sveral times - with same multipple attampts each time. It dropped it again, so I said - I'm done. Works with my android flawlessly though. Sorry, not much help, just an observation.
