If Key fob battery is dead, Can I still start the car?
So a thought came to mind as my RX is displaying a "Low Key Battery" sign.
IF my battery is completely dead or worse, my Key Fob gets damaged, is my car dead in water?
Is there a way to start the car if the Kay Fob is not working properly or just with the manual key?
TIA

If dead battery, hold the fob up to the start button until the light on the start button goes green, then press as usual. If broken, depends on how many pieces

Sort of. You need to hold Lexus (Toyota) logo right on the Start button for forgot how many seconds, and it should start. Same goes for doors to open. Hold logo right on the handle sensor.
Replace battery. You have about a month or so of use before it goes dead.

Button Start Question
Hello folks, I am a proud new owner of a 2011 RX350 with a button starter. Works well but I am curious about how to start if the fob battery were totally dead? I know how to use the metal key but this is just a theoretical question from a guy with an engineering degree......you know the type, always asking questions. I work fro Mercedes dealership and know that their newer cars have a phone charging pad and we removed a fob battery and the car could be started when we placed the fob (w/o a battery installed) on that pad.
Thanks, ronkberg

I have never tried this, but I was told my my Lexus dealership if my key fob battery is dead, I can just simply place the key fob next to the START button and hold for some three seconds and then hit the brakes and press the start button with the key fob still next to the START BUTTON and the car should start up fine.
