Color Preference vs What you Have
I'm curious, what color combination do you have on your RX? What color would you prefer to have or do you have your preferred combination?
I have a nebula gray exterior and black interior. To be honest, it wasn't my first choice, but when you buy used sometimes that happens.
Ideally, I'd love a black or white exterior with the parchment interior.
Also, for those that have a light colored interior, does it show stains/dirt/marks pretty easily?

I have white exterior with parchment interior, this is the combination I wanted. I prefer a nice and bright cabin. I find black interiors too dark and too hot during the summer.
You do get black markings/dirt coming off of your shoe on the lower rim of your door frame. I guess some people don't lift their legs high enough and it runs against it upon entry or exit. Doesn't bother me as you really don't look there, just got to wipe it once in a while. I also got kids 2 and 3, they'll wipe whatever they're eating on the sides. But with leather interior, it all comes off easily.
Overall, the dirt will definitely show on the lighter interior, but I guess I'll just have to deal with it for wanting a brighter inside. Here in Canada, we don't get a lot of light during the winter, so I'd like to absorb as much as I can. Sunroof is a must for any of my vehicles.

I got the white with parchment as well. I specifially searched for that color combo. It took many months of waiting to find one that was also AWD. I also wanted things like the mark levinson and HUD, but it would have take years to find that all together.
I previously had a black car and didnt want to go through that again. The car was parked outside so it was impossible to keep it looking clean and swirl free. I am an amateur detailer and it was still just to much for me to keep that car looking good.
The beige interior feels more cheerful and roomy to me. I dont find it gets dirty. I use all weather mats during winter. I have seen a lot of beige driver seats that looked bad though, so you'd want to learn how to maintain the leather properly.
Seems that the trend now is for dark paint and black interior. I wish they would have some fun colors. I had a lime green 67 firebird and a blue 94 ford escort wagon that I thought were fun. For me, I wasnt normally drawn to fun colors but the more I drove them the more they grew on me. I think the burgundy is about as fun as it gets as far as exterior colors for the rx350.

I have obsidian [black] exterior and parchment interior. That is the combination I wanted. The other color I liked was white, but my first gen was white so wanted to move away from it. Agreed, black is hard to keep clean, but boy oh boy does it look nice when it is washed and has no swirl marks. When ever I take it in for service, I asked it not be washed (dirtied ) by them. The other down side is that I have to look for shade in the hot Texas sun.
Since I do not wear jeans (other than to work in the yard), the seats have not picked up the blue hue.

Our 2015 is "Fire Agate Pearl", which Toyota simply named "Brown" and that is a much better description of the color. It has the saddle tan/black interior, which my wife loves. After a road trip to Las Vegas & Phoenix recently, we believe a lighter color might be better in really hot climates. But white, silver and gold are SOOO boring. Too bad that Lexus dropped those lighter, silvery colors years ago. I still see those on the road.
We've had two vehicles with the parchment interior, and hated the fact that they got dirty (with blue jean stains) so easily. No more parchment interiors for us!

I'm curious if Lexus upgraded the leather in the 2013 refresh? When I ran my vin on that subscription Toyota dealer site it said, "Interior Trim Color: LA, SEMI-ANILINE LEATHER". I dont have the luxury package though.
I dont know if it's just a coincidence, but the parchment leather in my 2014 still looks great, which is why I wondered if the leather was different than in the earlier models.

I had previously said that the parchment leather in my 4 year old Lexus still looked good, but after taking a closer look today I noticed that seats must have been re-dyed by the previous owner.
I still love the look of a tan interior but unfortunately can't recommend that color on any newer Lexus or Toyota as they just aren't the same quality as they used to be. Seems like it only takes a couple of years for the seats to deteriorate.

We wanted the saddle leather interior in either Deep Sea Mica or White. Got the former in a higher-mileage (82k) one-owner 2015. Couldn't be happier. The original owner (they left their home address in the GPS) was a business owner and serviced the car regularly. It honestly looked like none of the passenger seats had ever been sat in. Combine this with the fact that it came with new brakes and new tires, we think we found a great deal.

Got my RX through a friend who works at CarMax. With their nation wide network I was able to get the color I want, but had to compromise on some of the options (the HUD and adaptive cruise control being things I really wanted.)
I've noticed that in modern times it is next to impossible to get the exact option set you want, even on a new car. You can always order the exact one you want and wait, but the dealer will clobber you on the price. Looking back, I think my '87 Chevy Blazer was the last vehicle I ordered from the factory and got exactly what I wanted for a decent price, although my '01 ZR2 Blazer was close in that the tow package was the only thing it had that I didn't want.

Good leather cleaning products help. I use Sonax Leather Foam for normal cleaning of the seats. Nextzett Lederpflege for spot/deeper cleaning. Deeper meaning if Sonax doesn't cut it. Nextzett Plastic Deep Cleaner if Lederpflege doesn't cut it. However, the Plastic Deep Cleaner is rarely needed for the leather in my experience. As its name indicates it's also helpful for cleaning plastic. I have't even used it on our 3RX yet.
Got the idea for the Plastic Deep Cleaner for extreme leather cleaning from Detailers Domain:

We have to do that even with white.
