rubber trim on roof is gone

Q: Are you sure the previous repair had the right thickness? Was repair done on both rails?

I just assumed the previous repair with double sided tape was the right thickness, but now second guess that assumption. If it ain't broke -don't fix it is my motto. So no, I only worked on the Driver's side.

I would study the unmodified side and choose thin or thick double sided tape based on that.

If I was to do it again, I'd probably bring my digital venire calipers and take some measurements of the rubber strip and the slot it fits into to determine what the clearance, if any, there is between the bottom of the rubber strip and the slot. That way I'd know what thickness of 2 sided tape to install.

Maybe I'll get lucky and there won't be a next time.
