Angry Cost of tailgate motor on 2013 RX350

The tailgate on my 2013 RX350 works only occasionally. I called the local Toyota dealer for an estimate for repairs (the closest Lexus dealer is 65 miles away). The first thing they told me was to bring the car in for a diagnostic check at a cost $125.00 to make sure it was the motor. I brought it to my local mechanic who checked it out free of charge and told me it was more than likely a bad motor. I told him to check the price of a new motor before he spent too much time on it. He called the Lexus dealership for the cost of a motor and was told it was $832 plus tax. The parts manager at the Lexus dealership said that they're having to replace a lot of motors so they keep a few of them in stock. Add to that the cost of labor and I'm now looking at approximately $1100.00 to replace the tailgate motor. Guess I will be opening and closing the tailgate manually.

Try both online with our CL parts vendors and at local salvage yards

mylparts.com discount link https://www.clublexus.com/forums/clu...ml#post8356956

For salvage parts, car-part.com put in your location and can find them local to you or get shipped

Well, don't know what happened - it did for me earlier. I edited, so try again and if that doesn't work, just click on the link in the footer of the vendor in the discount code link I gave you (or type it into your browser
