Dual AC issue

Dual AC issue
Hi All,
Our 10 RX is exhibiting some AC issues. The driver's side vents are not blowing as cold as passenger and rear. It doesn't matter what temp, or whether it is set to dual or not. The driver's side is pretty much ambient air until the car runs quite a while, then gets cooler but not nearly as cold as the passenger side, which get cold quickly. Some research online indicates to check Freon first. Anyone have this issue?

We had the opposite problem, driver's side would only blow ambient temperature air even when both set to hot maximum degrees. Even told her, we live in Queensland, similar to Florida if you didn't know, so you don't need a heater! Wow, she was getting up at 4 am to go to work, and what if we drove down to Victoria where it does get colder?
Long story... in Australia by the way, dealer fobbed my wife off 3 times, told me to pick it up on the 4th time. He showed me a paper with some temperature comparison of another Lexus! WTF? I nearly choked him right there, you didn't need to compare anything except the difference between the 2 outlets in the middle of the dash, it was that obvious. Anyway, convinced them they better check it out properly, had it in the shop for almost a week in the end, replaced radiator and heater cores, all on extended warranty. We never went back to that service center, and just by coincidence, chatting with the service manager at the chosen center, he was looking at the records and said, I see you had about $4,000 work done there!
Probably not related but the thing for you to do, is stay on top of them, especially if there is any warranty involved! Good luck

At the least have your A/C system checked out as it may have a leak or bad sensor. Also get your cooling system checked out as indicated by The Snowman. You do not need the dealer as you are no longer under warranty and they always charge a lot more than independent shops. Find a place that does a lot of Toyotas as the RX is a Toyota with lipstick.

this is from Gen 1. I saw this issue after my car turned about 70K miles old. Not sure if this still applies but this was a stupid common problem for the Gen https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...old-air-4.html
I believe there are two servo behind the dash. One is the Air Mix Servo that determines how much cold and hot air comes out. And the second is the Blend Door Actuator (or something that sounds like it) that determines whether the air gets directed to you feet or the face or both.
Somewhat expensive part.
