2015 RX350 Struggling to start
Hi Everyone,
We have a 2015 Lexus RX350. Just this morning, the vehicle wouldn't start. After trying a couple of times, it struggled and then finally started running. After sitting for a while, it would start but it seemed to struggle doing so. Seems like it would "cough" a couple of times and then catch. Once it's running, it seems to do fine. We've never had anything like this before, in cold or hot weather (currently in central FL).
Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, please share. I'll provide any additional information as I diagnose.
Thanks!
Edit: I was able to attach a video (though not great quality) showing what happens. You can hear the engine struggle to start and also the dash lights seem to flicker.

Another vote for the battery.

Take the car to an auto store and get your battery checked.

I would check the battery terminals first. On a 2015 the battery itself may still be good, but there may be corrosion or loose clamps.
It's very important to have clean battery terminals, because a lot of current must flow to run the starter.

Especially, since the car struggled a few times and then started.
A weak battery would get weaker with every try, but a bad connection may get temporarily better from the vibration.
Loose or corroded battery terminals are often overlooked, but are easy and free to fix.

I wanted to close the loop on this. The issue was indeed the battery. Replaced with a new one and it's as good as new. Thank you for your help everyone!

As mentioned in another thread, my RX350 battery died in 3 years at 32k miles, used daily. Lexus dealer sent a guy out to my house and replaced it under warranty, based on the 10.5V battery voltage I measured and having a charger on it for over a day with no luck. If yours sits for a few days often, you should put a tender on it set for AGM batteries' higher voltage.
