Is it smooth and practically effortless when you close the hatch manually?
The motor is supposed to work with minimal effort.

The sides of the rear liftgate have sensors that prevent the liftgate from closing all the way if something is caught between the car and the liftgate. I'm thinking that if this part is defective, or disconnected, it may be preventing the liftgate from moving in the down direction. If your sensors are defective, send me a message. I have an extra set.

I just pinched the rubber sensors on the liftgate while pressing the close button at the same time. I get the same beep-beep that you get, and the liftgate does not move. I suspect your sensor wires or connectors are compromised, or the sensor itself is damaged somehow. Maybe a pinhole? Were the lift struts replaced recently? Maybe the mechanic did something to the sensors. No charge for the diagnosis. Please pay it forward. HA HA

There was a related post recently that called out the sensor assemblies P/N 84260F (842600E30) (passenger side)and P/N 8460G (8426000E040) (driver's side).
They're shown as $440.41 each, so it would be worth your while to fix them if possible. Is it possible that something got caught in the liftgate and damaged the sensors? I'll go take some pictures and try to post them.
I will post the pictures separately.

If the lift struts have been replaced recently, I'm guessing the person doing the job damaged the sensors. I'm not good at posting photographs, but I will do my best.

Black part is right sensor. Looks like a rubber seal with electric wire coming out of it.
Black part is left sensor. Looks like a rubber seal with electric wire coming out of it.
Left and right sensors.
This is the best I can do regarding pictures. You might try www.LexusSouthAtlantaParts.com Search for a 2010 liftgate sensor. Don't buy it from them. Maybe I can help you out.

JFarhat - I would look over both sensors carefully for pinholes, tears, broken wires or any abnormalities. Look closely. Take your time. If you want your liftgate to work again without spending a fortune, invest your time. Ask your significant other or anyone driving your car if any packages or cargo got caught in the liftgate. If this happened all at once, there should be something significant that you can see. If it happened over time, it may be something very small. Good luck. Everything I'm telling you is an educated guess.
Hope this helps. Anyone else?
