Trying to understand 3RX audio options

Good morning from California -
I currently have a 2RX (2006), purchased last November from a family member, and am considering trading it back to him because he doesn't like his "new" 3RX (2012) nearly as much. He desperately wants the 2RX back, and I've fallen partly in love with the 3RX. So...
I'm trying to sort out the sound system specs of his 3RX, which is currently 300+ miles away... and he's not an audio guy anyway. I've probed this site and elsewhere (incl. Crutchfield's usually excellent speaker replacement guides), but what I've been able to turn up is at best incomplete, at worst confusing or even contradictory. Sincere apoologies if I simply haven't searched hard enough -- I too get annoyed when users ask what's already answered.

What I think I know:
- The 3RX (2012) came with three audio options
- ML w/15 speakers
- non-ML w/12 speakers
- non-ML w/9 speakers
- At least one of the above includes at least one rear Subwoofer in the mix
- The 3RX in question has a non-ML system
- At a glance, I identified the following speakers in his 3RX
- Dash center (one speaker @ 3.5"?)
- Upper, Middle, and Lower (three speakers with Upper @ 0.75" or 1.0", Mid @ unknown size, and Lower @ 6.5") in each of the front doors
- Single speakers (1 @ 6.5") in each of the back doors
- I didn't expressly check the rear cargo area for any speakers, but didn't notice any at a glance.
- Do my findings above confirm that this is the 9-speaker system, in which the subwoofer either isn't counted or is absent?
- If it might be the 12-speaker system, where do I look for the other three speakers?
- I assume the small grill at center dash that's very close to the windshield is a Center Dash speaker, but might it be anything else?
- Does anyone know the rated speaker impedence in any or all of the above configurations? (I found the 2006 2RX to be a surprising and inconvenient 2-ohms)

Does the 2012 have Navigation? Non-Nav = 9 speakers, Nav has 12.
Do the rear doors have one (1) mid-range speaker or two including the mid-range and a tweeter?
The 12 speaker non-ML and the 15 speaker ML have the rear door tweets.

Ah, got it! This one does have Nav. I might have overlooked second speakers in the rear doors -- was trying to load two kids in 0° weather and a snow storm. So, I take it 12 speakers includes the ten total speakers in all four doors plus the Center Dash and Sub.
Thanks very much, this makes more sense now.

Can anyone tell me what the amp powers? Silly question I know it has to do with sound - but the dealer is saying I might have a bad ground wire or a bad amp? But they have NOT fixed the original problem that I took it ion for which is -
ALL the Matinence lights flash continuously while the engine is running. The engine will intermittently not start as well. I don't think the AMP has anything to do with the actual problem but then again I am NOT a LEXUS guru - what do I know.
