Default Grille removal/parking sensor replacement

Just got the wife a 2013 F sport and one of the front parking sensors has a mind of its own - randomly detects things that aren't there. I was able to reach down behind the grille to find one of the front sensors appears to have a piece broken on the back of it somehow. I suspect this is part of the problem. I have a new sensor on the way to fix it but I cannot get my arm in behind the grille enough to actually unplug/replace things.

Is there an easy way to take off just the grill to allow space or do I have to remove the bumper to do so? Also, is there an easier way to access the driver's side front sensor from the bottom rather than the top? I'm referring to the one in front not the corner directly in front of the wheel.
