Cost to replace rear bumper
Hi
My Lexus RX 350 was bumped in a parking spot. I have attached pics of rear bumper damages. Will it be full replace? And any idea about the cost?
Thanks

Depends upon the skill level of the selected repair shop. Those that specialize in repairing plastic bumpers may be able to fully repair yours. There is an excellent franchise called Colors On Parade that does the best plastic bumper repairs I have ever seen. They restored two of our plastic bumpers on previous vehicles to perfect condition. Google them and see if they operate in your geographic area.

There is a repair option too, which a "bumper repair shop" can determine if it is a possibility for you.
Usually repair is cheaper than replacement.

$1,850 all in is not bad at all for a dealer price. You might be able to get a deal at a decent shop for $1,500. But people forget the labor of removing and installing the bumper, replacing all the parts and fittings.

I have not taken 3rd gen bumper off, but all the Lexus I have owned had many fasteners and clips. The repair can be done shoddily and you would not know. All I doubt Lexus will do the repair at their facility and it is most likely farmed out.Give your local dealership a call and ask which shops they recommend.

I had to replace my rear bumper cover a few years ago and the cost was about $1800 from a local body shop. It included a new plastic step on top of the bumper.

The estimated cost was $3000.00, ended up at $3250.00, mostly due to damage to the lift gate (creased and cracked the paint). Most of the cost was labor. And I only was out of pocket my $500 deductible. Thank goodness for uninsured driver insurance.
Dummy was borrowing a car, driving on a revoked license, no insurance, no registration, and the owner of the truck didn't have insurance either. 🤬
The bumper cover and the step plate (?) and bumper underneath had to be replaced vs being repaired. And paint to match the rest of the car.
Insurance sent me to Service King, as the local Lexus dealership did not do body work or paint. Sadly they tend to find more things needing replacing once they open things up, which is a good thing.
If they can just repair the bumper cover, and replace a few clips, it may be a better deal. Hopefully the person that bumped you is footing the repair bill.

Sadly... He's out and still driving...
Saw him a few times in the area driving another car and truck. The state sent me a notice, to send them proof that I had damages over and above what my insurance pays, and they will bar him from getting his driver's license or car tabs renewed, until he's paid me. I laughed when I read that. If it was going to work, he never would have been driving to hit me.
