I would definitely lean toward the one with the best service history.

Regarding hybrid battery life, industry experts typically say that the expected battery lifespan is 8 to 10 years. If hybrids can be kept on some sort of battery tender, you may be able to get somewhat longer than that. I think you have more research to do before you decide whether or not to make an offer on the one you are looking at now.

20 minutes of research leads me to believe that it's only worth taking the battery risk if you're getting it for a song. This is from a dealer so their song won't be nearly pretty enough. My 2018 ES is a hybrid - i'd better start squirreling away battery money now.

Thanks to all. I found a CPO 2013 w/44k miles. Mint condition. One owner with every service performed at Lexus.
Very happy.

Out of curiosity, did you have to settle on color and inside trim? At a minimum, it had to have the;

Comfort pkg
Premium pkg w/blind spot
Nav upgrade

For instance, I really like the Nebula Gray Pearl and white ivory interior. So I wanted that scheme but if I found the car I really wanted with a Mark Levenson stereo, adaptive cruise ext but was black on black, and perhaps more miles, was I willing to settle?

I've had a black car and didn't like the upkeep. Black interior to hot. But if it had everything I wanted, geezh

Hope you like what you found.

For us it was color and the price and then options..Car had to be white with beige leather interior... Nav was not a deal breaker, the rest is standard on the 15 we got. Worked out good
