I have a 2014 RX 350 with 50K miles running like new. I just did a clean with Gumout and wanted to install an oil catch can, thinking of keeping this car of a while. Can't find any posts to see where folks have mounted them. Are there no RX owners with OCC installed?

I don't think that is an issue with this vehicle as it is not direct injection. There is no history of abnormal valve carbon deposits that would warrant installing a catch can. Just run some Techron Fuel System cleaner a couple of times a year and maybe do a fuel induction cleaning service every few years or 50,000 miles if you have a lot of miles and your intake valves should be clean enough to run smooth.
You may want to check https://www.toyotanation.com/forum/8...ion-2001-2007/
as it has the same engine & transmission etc.
What kind of cleaning did you do with the Gumout? Pour it in the tank or drip through a vacuum line into the engine?

^^ What he said. Techron is a great product. It is the only fuel injection system cleaner additive that I am willing to spend money for. I wait for the BOGO sales at the big box stores like Advance Auto Parts or Pep Boys and then pick up several of the 20-ounce bottles for half-price. A bottle of Techron gets poured down the hatch at every oil & filter change on all of our vehicles.

Thanks for the info, I did not know it is not direct injection, so I won't be installing an oil catch can. The Gumout bottle has 16 oz. so I did 6 oz in the crankcase (where oil goes) since it is recommended 1 oz for quart of oil, then the 10oz left goes to the fuel tank. Gumout and Techron both have P.E.A cleaning agent which per my research works for modern cars.
