Default Remote Start not working

I’m sure I have a Factory Remote Start on my 2015 RX 350 according to my Build Sheet. I purchased this vehicle as a Certified Lexus last year. The dealer told me that my vehicle had the remote start but never showed me how to use it. I’ve done the YouTube videos and still no luck. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Click the remote LOCK button 3 times. Hold it down on the 3rd click for several seconds. Lights should flash and car starts. Unfortunately these remotes are short distance only.

If you followed the instructions and the vehicle does not start, visit the dealership as you paid a premium when you purchased CPO.

When you call the service dept for appointment, ask then if they can walk you through the process of remote starting to avoid a trip to the dealership.

incidentally your sales person is responsible to get you educated on the vehicle features. These days they have a specialist group in the dealership who does that.

To check to see if your RX truly has remote start, open the hood and see if there's a warning label indicating engine could be remotely started ...

Sad to say our Sales person was an idiot. Did not have that Lexus felling when we left.

Thank you for the info and suggestion.

Now that didn’t work, but if click the unlock button threes and hold it for three seconds all the windows roll down and the sunroof opens.
Something is programmed wrong.

You're doing it wrong. Press the LOCK button twice then press it the third time & hold down for a few seconds, it should start the car ...

In my earlier post I mentioned that I tried it that way and it didn’t work. I’m calling the dealer tomorrow.
Thank you for that info.

The timing of the fob Lock button presses is critical.
Must be quick, press/release/press/release/press and hold till you see the marker lights flash.
Too slow or not holding the last press... not going to remote start.

Might the second key be inside the car? Will not lock from the fob and thus...not going to start
Is the low fuel level light on? Is the hood ajar? Is a door ajar? All conditions that cancel the start sequence.

Just called the dealer and said the Fob needs to be re-programmed. This dealership said That I need to purchase the Enform service, really?

Glad the remote is working for you. Three (3) ways to shut it down, 1) wait 10 minutes - if you get distracted it will not
run forever. 2) Press and hold the fob Lock button 3) reach through Driver's or Passenger's door handle - will not
asphyxiate your family while they are loading. Can be remote started twice totaling 20 minutes, then you must start from inside.

The dealers stated thought regarding paying for the Enform subscription is likely because Every 2016 and newer RX has
the subscription based fob and phone system but only a Few 2010 - 2015 RX's have the installed (but free!) Remote Engine Start RES.

Have you found the hidden compartment within the center console, room enough for the owner's manual?
Did you try slipping the mechanical key out of the fob and turning it counter clockwise in the driver's lock cylinder?
Closes up all the windows and sunroof!
Try pressing and holding the steering wheel "Mode" button...mutes the radio or pauses any playback source.

Interesting information that I wasn’t fully aware of. Will take some time and read more of the manuals.
Thank you for your help.

Default Remote Starter Stopped Working

Hi-I have a 2010 RX350 with a remote starter.
  1. It has worked in years past. Now, I press the lock key 3 times, the lights flicker but it does not start.
  2. I have replaced the batteries in the remotes.
  3. Per the post below, I have replaced the car batter (Due anyway) and the lights flicker but the car still does not start.
Anyone have any other ideas? I have read about a hood pin being broken. It is a safety feature that the car will not start with the hood open. Anyone know if this vehicle has a hood pin?
