I have the "Maintenance calendar" for my 2014 RX350 (Canadian, so numbers are all in metric).

Attached are two pages relevant to my question.

• Page 1 shows the work items for the "Lubrication service" service category which is noted as being needed every 8k kms (5k miles). An Oil and Oil Filter Change is one of these items.

• Page 2 shows a calendar view, i.e. at what kms you have to do each service category. Something doesn't make sense to me. Page 1 says do the "Lubrication service" every 8k kms (5k miles), yet in this calendar view, the "Lubrication service" is spread out by 16k kms (10k miles).

What gives?

RX in NC

The owners manual for my wife's 2015 RX350 specifies an oil-and-filter change interval of 10,000 miles for the required 0W-20 synthetic oil. Granted, that is for a U.S.-based vehicle. No idea whether Canadian-based vehicles may be subject to different service intervals.

Does the Maintenance Service includes the Lubrication Service? I can't seem to to find a copy of that schedule online though it seems like a bit much to have 5K oil change intervals but things may differ up there as RX in NC pointed out.

Ahhh.... hidden in the big list of items in "Maintenance service" is an entry for replacing oil filter and oil.

My bad for not reading it thoroughly and assuming they were just non-engine oil related items.

Weird then that the US version manual specifies 10k miles before engine oil and filter replacement while the Canadian version specifies 5k miles (8k kms).

Very weird. Same cars, same engines, both built in Ontario, Canada. We both share the same climate regions along our borders. What gives then?
