Default DIY - RX 09-12 Comfort Turn Signal upgrade

Hi Guys,

I want to share small DIY about upgrade turn signals (standard 1 blink) to comfort (3 blinks) in RX 09-12. Facelift version has it configurable in NAV settings, so instruction has no application.
0. Buy Q-Safe Blinker 01 kit (Toyota/Lexus dealer - it should cost around 40USD). I'm pretty sure it will also work for other Lexuses from that years (eg IS, GS)
1. Tilt the panel on the right side of turning wheel, below Start button. There are no screws, so just pull it.
2. Unplug connector from Turn Signal Flasher and plug it to attached wiring to the kit
3. Plug wiring to Turn Signal Flasher
4. Plug wiring to Q-Safe Blinker 01
5. Turn on engine and enjoy Comfort Turn Signals
Here is a video presenting where to plug it:

Does this work for 2013 and models? I know that the 2015 has it but not the 13-14. Also, what is the link to this?

I'm not sure about this particular unit, but if it doesn't and you want something like this, the TapTurn (http://www.autowindow.com) claims to support RX up to 2015 model. There are a few threads about TapTurn in this forum if you search. They have several models from basic tap for multiple flashes, up to programmable strobing effects and other lighting goodies. I've had the strobe version in my RX for several years now.

I've been using the TapTurn by Autowindow for a long time. My RX350 is 2013. It's made in Canada. Price range based on features but roughly $60 for the one with decent features. The number of turn clicks range from 1 to 6 which I think the sweet spot is between 3~5 clicks.

It also turns the parking lights on and off with pressing the remote lock and unlock. This also can be set anywhere from 15 seconds to a minute to keep the area lit while approaching or departing the vehicle.

I can tell that it works on any Toyota/Lexus regardless of the year.

I'm from Europe, so it is available here at Toyota/Lexus dealers. You can probably ask your dealer about it. There are also universal modules (e.g on eBay), but they demand cutting cables - this one is plug&play.

Hi Guys, I am looking to do this upgrade as well. Researching a bit I came across SmartTap from https://www.diodedynamics.com/led-fl...xus-rx350.html . It seems to me that it includes all the same functionality of the 2nd level TapTurn but at the $60 mark. Any of you have used this one? Any firsthand experiend with the DiodeDynamics one?

Cheers!
