Hello, I've been shopping for hours on my pc for a red rx350. Only found a couple. I have a question. If the console mounted switches in front of the padded lid are present does that mean it has heated and cooled seats? The equipment list doesn't mention heated and cooled seats? Does it have to have perforated seat material for cooled seats? Maybe they are heated only. Maybe nothing?? I live 250 miles away and I'm trying to get as much info as possible before driving there.
If it has the controls on the middle console ( which do sort of appear in that photo), then it has the heated and cooled seats. From the photo it appears to have the mouse controller for Navigation, which is usually coupled with the heated and cooled seats package.
You can research the VIN number to determine what options it has at the Lexus Drivers site, Just join up (Create an Account) as if you own the vehicle, then enter the VIN. You will be able to see the options and also see its service history at Lexus dealers. https://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/
What year is it and how many miles are on this vehicle?
That vehicle only has 48,000 miles, and one owner. That is amazing for a 2010 model. There may actually be a service history at the Lexus Drivers Site linked above. How is the CarFax report?
The price is high and you should be able to get them to lower it especially since you live far enough away that you will not use their offered free oil changes, car washes etc for life.
I could see from additional photos that it does have the perforated leather seats, so they are heated and cooled and it has Nav and the rear back up camera. Also, the dealer incorrectly states it has a Parchment interior when it is black.
Not to burst your bubble regarding heated/cooled seats, but just be aware that while the heated seats function works well, the cooled seats function is nothing more than a gimmick. It does next to nothing to cool you off.
Heated works awesome but the ventilated part isn't as pronounced but I can feel it on a hot day with just a t-shirt on along my back but needs more flow under your butt.
In general, heated is available with or without perforation. Cooling (really "ventilated" is a better term) requires perforation. The effectiveness of the ventilation decreases over time as it can be difficult to keep things clean from lint and dust. Specifically for the 3rd generation RX in Canada/USA, it was either heated/vented or nothing, so if you can see the switches, it will have both features (this is not true for all markets).
That said, be aware that the centre console lid can slide forward and cover the switches, so if you can't see the switches in a photo, see where the lid is positioned, they may just not be visible.
The Auto HVAC will direct warm air down to the floor vents (heat rises, right?) when ambient temp is cool
and cold air to the dash vents when ambient temp is hot. The ventilated seats pick up floor air to percolate
through the seats to your...seat. Easy trick when it is very hot and the Auto HVAC wants to send all the cool
air at your face...tap the HVAC mode button once. This will now send cool air to both the dash vents and the
floor vents and thus cool your feet and your seat.
Hey Clutchless that was some good detective work. Thank you guys for all the advice. I was not able to get that car. But I learned a lot from this site . Thanks
