Red face Should I buy a 2010 Lexus rx 350 with 63k miles

Not sure why I'm fretting about this, but I currently own a 2017 Toyota 4Runner that I was pressured to buy a couple of months ago by the dealership. Still don't know why I did it. I had the worst case of buyers remorse that I've ever had! Nothing wrong with the vehicle at all, just have always wanted any car payments to be under $300 a month. The 4Runner is costing me $438/mo. I previously had a 2006 rx 300h and love it. Starting having issues with the hybrid system so I paniced and sold it. I want to downsize and my neighbor is selling his 2010 Lexus rx 350. It only has 63K and he's kept really good care of it and maintenance has always been at a Lexus dealership. He said he would sell it to me for $13K. According to KBB, that is a great price. My car payment would be under $200/mo and I'd have it paid off in 3 years. Six years for the Toyota. I know the rx 350 is really reliable but I guess I'm trying to decide if this would be a smart decision.

Go for it. Sounds good! I’ve had both. Low car payment is even better.

Do you need the extra towing capacity and off road capability of the 4 runner?. If not then the rx350 is more refined and gets better gas mileage. If you have an independent mechanic that you trust, have them look at the rx350 for a prebuy inspection. Our 2010 rx350 has 125k miles and still happy with it.

And never let anyone else pressure you into buying something you are not sure of again....

Second that. You ALWAYS have more power over the dealership than they you.

We have a 2011 RX350 and it's a wonderful car for us and the least expensive car to maintain. I think your neighbor is more trustworthy than the Toyota dealership. You will NEVER be happy with the 4Runner because of the circumstances of the sale. Lesson learned. Test drive it first for handling and comfort. Your gut will tell you what to do. I would go for it.

Wait... you didn't say what you'd do with the 4Runner... you won't just magically have a sub-$300 payment. you still have the 4Runner to deal with. How much is the 4Runner worth vs. what you owe?

Great question for the OP. If you had a rx before & loved it, why'd you even look at a 4runner? Two totally different vehicles. Your going to take a bath if you sell the 4runner.

Hmmm, not sure what all the bells & whistles or mileage on the 4 runner, but if OP overpaid, then underpays on the RX, over the long haul, might break even and be happier. That's still a win.
