Hi, all. I recently purchased a 2015 RX 350, and I’ve noticed that whenever I drive over a bump in the road, or a deep hole, or extremely rough road or the like, I hear a creak/creaking sound that occurs in the dashboard area. The closest I can describe the sound is like the sound your rear view mirror makes when you adjust it—that kind of creak.
Any suggestions? Anyone ever hear of this? I’ve taken it to two Lexus dealerships, and they claim that the car doesn’t sound abnormally different when compared to any other 15 RX 350... And I hate that answer because I can definitely hear a sound.
Can I just request they add more insulation or something? Will they do that even if they can’t hear anything? Am I better off going to an independent shop for this work? I don’t wanna pay Lexus inspection prices yet again for them to claim it’s fine.
Thank you.

You may want to search for posts regarding the steering column assembly making intermittent creaking sounds. Some owners have reported that issue in the last few months (not sure how many were 2015 models though) and had varying degrees of success by either greasing the innards or replacing the assembly.
