Welcome to CL. There are many OEM discount parts dealers on the web. Most are owned by actual Lexus dealers. You can easily Google this. However links to a few are below.

Default Online Parts Store.....

What is this board's favorite online parts source? I have a 2015 and need a new shifter ****. The black plastic is starting to shed its top layer.

Thanks,

Randy

I have had positive experiences with discountpartsmonster.com . They are a Lexus dealer in Hollywood, Florida.

Try eBay every once in a while you find deals. If you don’t care too much you can get Chinese knock offs on Amazon cheap. A few years back I had a 07 ES that I bought one for on eBay. It wasn’t exactly a replica but the color matched the rest of the wood allot better.

Default Where do you buy service parts

Hi all, newbie here. I have a 2012 RX350 with 80K up for service. When I called the dealer, they recommended Cabin & Engine Air filter replacements as part of the service. Do you buy parts from an online store or do you buy them from local dealership? I am ok to buy them from my local dealer, but wanted to check here first.

thanks so much

I usually get my parts through RockAuto. They are cheaper than the parts stores and the dealer for the wear items like wiper blades, cabin filters, air filters, etc. To save on the shipping charges, I order parts for 3 vehicles that I maintain at the same time so there's a considerable savings.

^^ Yep, that's a good plan that many of us use. Also keep in mind that you can buy the proper OEM parts cheaper at a Toyota parts department than at a Lexus parts department. And that some Toyota dealerships have online stores that sell OEM parts even cheaper than they do at their parts counters. For instance, the last time I replaced the engine air filter in my wife's 2015 RX350, I ordered it from the local Toyota dealership's online store for a total of $14.68. Had I purchased this same air filter at that dealership's parts counter, I would have had to pay about $22. It has always been well worth my time to keep individual lists of the correct part numbers for our vehicles and use those parts numbers to search Google for the best deals.

Thanks for the advice. I have bought parts for my Honda at Rock Auto, but they were part of a timing belt kit. Is there a way to find out the part number for the filters, if I were to shop around for parts at local Toyota. For example, when I searched up parts.lexus.com, I see three part numbers:
8713907010 for $41.38
8713907020 for $22.23
8713950100 for $55.55

Call any Lexus parts department, tell them your VIN, and ask for the correct filter part numbers you are interested in. Keep a rolling list of part numbers for your vehicle and add to it as needed.

Your oil filter is Toyota part number 04152-YZZA1. Your engine air filter is Toyota part number 17801-YZZ11. I use both of those. At my local Toyota parts department online store, the oil filter currently sells for $3.51. The air filter currently sells for $14.68.

I use Denso 453-1019 cabin air filters. They fit my wife's RX350 as well as my Subaru Outback 3.6R. My last 4-pack of these came from rockauto.com for about $26.

I use Toyota wiper blade refills. The drivers side is 85214-0T050 (26"). The passenger side is 85214-0T040 (22"). You must transfer the metal edges from your old refills to your new refills. At my local Toyota parts department online store, both of these refills currently sell for $7.60 each.

For generic parts [filters etc] you can visit say Fram and get their equivalent part number and even look up other Toyota models that part fits to. Then you can call Toyota dealership. The procedure I am outlining is called "reverse look-up"

Thanks those are good insights. I actually went to Rock Auto, searched for the part by description, was able to get the OEM part number. 8713907020 for $22.23. However, Lexus dealership said that the part number is 8713950100. I suppose this is a more recent part number. Also, the Engine Air filter part number is 17801-0P051. At least for 2012 RX350.
