I do not have any photos but the drivers seat outboard bolster on my wife's 2015 RX350 had to be refurbished/repainted in June 2019 at 40,500 miles. I submitted a case to Lexus Corporate and they agreed to cover 50% of the repair cost. I battled them for full coverage but they refused, claiming "normal wear and tear". They paid $100 and I paid $100. The local Lexus dealership keeps a guy there on retainer just to do leather repairs. That alone told me that Lexus knows but will not admit to how crappy their leather quality has become. I have heard that the leather quality improved somewhat in the 2016-and-newer RX models but I do not know if that is indeed true. However, I can certainly confirm that the leather quality in my 2013 Subaru Outback 3.6R, my wife's 2006 Jaguar XK8, and even my 1999 Dodge Ram is far superior compared to the cheap skins that Lexus was putting in these 3rd generation models. Shame on Lexus....

If you go with Leather Renew be sure to get the optional clear coat top coating as it makes the finish last longer. I applied the paint and top coat with a foam brush and used a toothpick to clear any ventilation holes that had paint in them.

Thanks for the pro tip Clutchless, will do. I’m planning to contact the company as well before I place my order.
