Luxury Options in the Winter
Hello,
Was curious about how certain features performed in Winter (-30 Degrees Celsius) such as the adaptive front lighting system and Power retractable folding exterior mirrors.
They're nice options to have but in winter do you risk having them go bad from getting cold and breaking or going bad. Would rather have them turned off and not a bill to pay to repair them.
Just wondering if others keep them on and their experience with it in the winter.
Its a 2010 Lexus 450h.
Thank you

The real issue is not the temperature, but ice (frozen area) around moving parts. That only applies to folding-mirrors. My view is if you can operate the door (door locks and hinges) the mirrors would be OK too.
Keep in mind this comes from a person who lives in central Texas and has to really watch out for crazy drivers on the road in winter times.
