Bike rack

If you are pondering using one of those that use straps to hook just to the rear hatch itself, don't. They do work, sort of, but such a PITA to use. I had one I used 2 or 3 times and then one day I needed straps for something and canabalized it and wasn't sad that I did.

Here is a link to a post showing a Thule roof bike rack on a gen 3 RX: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...l#post10228003
The Thule bike rack in the photo looks very similar to the Thule roof bike racks sold by Lexus dealers in Europe for the RX. I totally hate roof bike racks but I've used them when nothing else was practical. IMO, the only good aspect of roof bike racks is that they don't block rear hatch doors or a trunk access like a hitch mounted bike rack usually does. There are swing away hitch mounted bike racks that don't block the rear hatch door or trunk but that can be a very expensive way to go.

Once you get an aftermarket hitch you can always find a cheap used hitch mounted bike rack on Craigslist.
