ODO Rest and Display Brightness adjustment Don't work
So I bought a 13 RX350 and just never paid attention to the ODO Reset and Screen Brightness adjustment features recently. But no matter what I do, nothing happens when I use those buttons. I was searching online, and people suggested either bad fuse or a connector cable is the core of the problem. I thought I'd check here before I take it to a mechanic or if there is some troubleshooting I can do to try myself before that.
Thanks

To confirm the brightness control, try when there is dark outside and you have the headlight turned on.

ODO should toggle between Actual total vehicle miles and Trip A, Trip B.
Press and hold ODO while either Trip is displayed to reset to 0.0 miles
Dimming can be checked at night or by covering the Quarter sized black dome
sensor on the dash by the windshield with an opaque object such as a cell phone.
When the headlights come on try the dimmer buttons, ought to run down to almost Black.
If none of this is working perhaps a careless technician was behind the dash and unplugged
a harness. Is there an aftermarket remote starter or additional switches/buttons in that lower
left dash area? Does the button cluster appear to have been struck or damaged, buttons
recessed or crooked?
