2010 with shaking steering wheel under braking
Hi. New FWD RX350 owner here. I got this early 2020 with 99k miles and am currently sitting at 102k. Throughout the year I didn't think much of it but have grown concerned over the shaking of the steering wheel under braking. It's more noticeable braking at higher speeds.
In the service history I discovered 2 instances where the driver side "axle nut" had to be tightened and am wondering if this could be the culprit. It also states that this occured after the owner hit a large pothole but without mention of shaking or wobbling under braking. In the forums here I found a similar problem claiming the rotors are to blame but it also seemed inconclusive. Would a resurface job remedy this? Also any tips or recommendations for a rx350 owner would be appreciated.
Thanks
EDIT: Also just remembered the AC fan ticks quite loudly. Is anyone familiar with this?

Welcome to CL.
The most likely cause of your shaking is that your brake rotors are warped. Any repair shop can inspect them for excessive runout. I recommend replacement over resurfacing as when they are resurfaced they are thinner and more likely to warp again and sooner than before. The cost is not much more to just replace them and you should get new brake pads at the same time.
Again do not go to the dealer for this problem as you will pay far more than to a good independent repair shop. The brakes on most Japanese vehicles are very similar and all mechanics are able to repair them.
I doubt your axle nut has become loose again.
Check your cabin air filter and see if there is any debris stuck in the filter compartment. Youtube has many videos showing how to do this. It is a 2 minute job. A new cabin filter is inexpensive.

I had this exact same issue on my 2013 w/ 70k miles. I purchased in 2018 w/ 50k and front brakes were replaced to pass inspection by the selling dealer. My independent shop replaced the rotors, said they were warped and that the pads were fine. No issues since. I replaced the rear pads/rotors myself at 75k.
