How fast can a mechanic replace a front O2 sensor on a 12 RX350? My ride was in and out in 10 minutes. Price labor and part was $575. Did I just get hosed? Or did they just clear a code and not replace anything? I had the dealer do it so they would have a record.
Very fast, it is the easiest part to replace in the whole engine bay, if you open hood and look down between engine and radiator you are staring right at it.
You got hosed by going to the dealership for this job. Find a well-respected Toyota-familiar independent repair shop in your area and save yourself some money on any future repairs if you cannot DIY.
Yes, I did research one (which I will use in the future). Some nice Toyota and Lexus mechanics.
It's actually only the second time in 9 years the car has been repaired at the dealer. 1st time was leaking CV joints repaired under warranty.
I just got my dash cam hardwired and this was it's first visit to the shop and I wanted to see what I was paying for.
Just amazing how fast they did it.
But I enjoyed a nice afternoon in a free loaner vehicle. So my butt hurts a little less.

You can get a Denso A/F or O2 sensor from RockAuto for between $85 and $115, so if you're willing to turn a wrench yourself, you could save almost $500 Hosed is putting it mildly. That's why they call it the Stealership.
I replaced the factory Denso upstream bank one oxygen sensor in my wife's 2006 Jaguar XK8 in late December last year. Ordered the exact-fit Denso sensor from amazon.com for a total of $92 with free shipping. It was a 15-minute job in our driveway, done from above so no jack stands needed. The only tool required was my 22mm box wrench. The key was doing the job in bright sunlight so full visibility was available all the way through the engine bay.

I do work on the simple things myself. Just don’t have any ramps to get to the lower ones. And I hear the rears are more work. Hosed...yea. More like boned.
thanks for all the feedback. Learn a lot on this forum.
