Waze issues
I have a 2015 RX350. I do not have a built in nav system. I love the WAZE app but I cannot listen to my radio and get voice directions from Waze off my iPhone.I have tried most of the solutions offered on line but the only way it works is if I am listening to music or books on tape from my iPhon but it does not work if listening to the Lexus radio. I have been told that the 2015 Lexus is designed for Android uses and not iOS users.
Any help is appreciated.
thanks

It's not an IOS issue. You'd see the same behavior with Android. The radio and your phone audio streaming audio are 2 separate inputs. You can only listen to one or the other at a time.
Something you could try is under Waze's "Voice & sound" settings, select "Play sound via" and switch it to "Play as Bluetooth phone call". That should override whatever you're listening to but given how Bluetooth calls are handled in the RX I'm not sure this will work well.

You can't do what you want in 2015 RX
The only way to solve your problem is to listen to streaming radio on your phone while using Waze, not the car radio.
Most radio station stream, find your station's app and use it.

There should be no reason the "Play as Bluetooth Phone call" would not work on the OP's '15 RX or any
vehicle with Bluetooth pairing. As Takeshi74 described the settings correctly (for an iPhone at least) the
device will treat a Waze prompt as a phone call and pause any radio or media being played and the
incoming phone call will be displayed with your own phone number. When the prompt is finished the
call will hang up and the original media will resume.
Check the Bluetooth settings in the phone and be sure the Lexus is shown on the phone screen as
Lexus RX or Multimedia. If it now shows Car Accessory System in the Bluetooth banner then the
pairing has become unstable and you must delete the car from the phone & the phone from the car
and repair them. Simplest technique of all is to be certain you have turned the phone completely off,
cold dead dark Off at least once a week. Cures innumerable glitches.
