I currently own an 18 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road with 33k miles on it. I bought it new, in August 2018, for $34,494, and it’s paid off. I love the vehicle and have had no problems, but I almost never use the off road equipment or 4wd system. As everyone knows, used car prices have gone up. Carmax quoted me at $38,800 and Carvana $39,400 for my 4Runner, which is when I realized that the value of my vehicle has basically gone up in 3 years time. I have my eye on a used 13 Lexus RX350 AWD. Mileage is under 60k. One previous owner from North Carolina, no accident history, and service records appear to check out. They serviced it at approximately every 5k miles at the same dealership that it’s listed at. New tires, rear struts, and fluids have been changed. I have a sight unseen offer of a vehicle swap + $16k, which I am very tempted to jump on. Is there anything that I am not considering here? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

 

That’s seems like a solid deal to me. I love the 4 runner but I don’t think it’s $16k nicer than the RX. I had a 19 RX350 two years into the lease that Carmax bought out for $7,300. I ended up buying a mint 2010 for around $15K. I plan on driving it until the market stabilizes and since it’s a RX I will still be able to sell it and only loose a few grand.

Oh nice! It’s dark here right now, so can’t take a picture. Mine is silver with 57k miles. Has comfort, luxury, and nav package. $22500, but I traded my 18 4Runner for the RX + cash. I love black. Almost every vehicle I’ve owned has deliberately been black. Nice choice.
