Steering column
Hey I had a steering column replaced in my 2010 AWD RX350 and now my traction control light is on and I have an AWD warning message. The mechanic says now my tie rods and struts may be creating the issue, but this was not happening before the repair. Anyone run in to anything similar?

He probably screwed up some of the connections while replacing the steering column. There are wires and electrical connections he may have damaged or forgot to connect properly. He does not want to go back in there without getting paid again, although it was his incompetence that lead to this problem.
He needs to re-check his prior work.
Your struts and tie rods have nothing to do with any warning lights related to AWD and traction control. He just wants more money from you before you get really pissed when you realize he did not know what he was doing when he replaced the steering column.
It may be beyond his skill set and you may need someone else to fix it. If you paid by credit card and he gives you a hard time you should contact the credit card company and dispute the charges. That will get his attention.

Unfortunately he caused the issue one way or another. Is he a legit experienced shop or a cheaper less experienced quick lube type of shop? This is where you have to decide if it’s worth making him make it right or realize you need to cut your losses and find a real mechanic that has the tools and knowledge to properly troubleshoot instead of just throwing parts at it and hoping it fixes the issue.
