Oil Gush out?

The GX is a very old design and there are newer better large luxury SUVs on the market. https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/lexus/gx
Look at the BMW X5 or Genesis GV80 or Lincoln Aviator, or Audi Q7, or BMW X7. Or consider the Hyundai Palisade/Kia Telluride for less money.
We are shopping the BMW X5 right now and may end up with a 2021 (new or used) because the 2022s lost some features due to the chip & parts shortages.
I think a third row is optional so it may not be large enough for you.

Looks like the OEM is metal now: 15767-31010 Genuine Lexus Pipe, Oil Cooler (lexuspartsnow.com)
Let me get this straight. we have the 2011 RX350, currently ours has the rubber pipe? I can't see it with all the covers at the moment. Planning on replacing this as a preventative measure.

I was about order tools and parts from Amazon but suddenly getting lazy because it's cold here. SO paid an arm for it.
I actually had to buy extra 5quart oils and in order to drive 7 mins from home to nearest Toyota dealer, oil dripping like crazy on the street and on the the dealer floor, everyone was like "what is going on????"

You were robbed. Any shop can replace this in under 2 hours. I did it in my garage with it on jack stands and it took less than 2 hours.
The trick is you have to remove a couple of the studs in addition to the nuts in order to manipulate the old one off and squeeze the new one in there. The part is $70 more or less on eBay, Amazon, Rock Auto.
There is an extended warranty if yours is leaking, you need to call Lexus. However most cars are aging out of the warranty. Depends when in 2011 your car was put into service.

Does anyone know the specific month/date (build date) Toyota switched the rubber VVT-i and rubber oil cooler lines for the all metal "accordion" style?
Internet searches say for Toyotas, they had rubber lines on the 2GR-FE up to 2009. Yet, for RX, it seems they used them all through 2010 and possibly up to 2012.
My 2013 RX350 has a build date of Dec 2012. I have all metal lines on the oil cooler, but I haven't looked at the VVT-i pipes yet.

Here is a pic with intake manifold off, but anyone should be able to run their fingers down the VVTi pipe and feel for the rubber (or not) join before the pipe goes under the plastic cover. BTW warranty replacement was just with "improved" rubber, not metal like in, 2013+ I think.
