2013 RX350 - Getting Serviced at Honda Dealer
#16
Took it back to the Lexus Dealer for them to reinspect. Indeed the Honda Dealer mechanic was correct, Lexus initial inspection was incorrect - the brakes were really at 8,8 on the LF/RF brakes and 7,7 on the LR/RR brakes.... the also remeasured the tires depth and corrected that to be LF/RF 77 and LR/RR 66 which is correct because the Front tires were more recently replaced by us and should have more tread, than the original inspection report that had them at 77 for both sets of tires... changed the brakes in Yellow to magically be in Green now. (grin)
Lexus resolution, thanking us for taking it back in, filled up the 3/4 full tank to full with Premium and told us the next service visit is on them, admitted that their initial tech messed up and that the service advisor does work on 100% commission and was maybe a little overeager in selling the potential need for brakes and that we actually likely don't need brakes for probably another 40,000 miles as our Honda Dealer mechanic is correct - there is no brake problem and no there is no need to pay $1,300 for new brakes... he also explained the Service Advisor has a team of two technician he works with and will make sure we only get that Service Advisor moving forward and told us who the more seasoned techs are out of the two, and that if our Service Advisor isn't available to speak to him for any needs.
