Default 2011 rx as daily driver-what to look out for?

Hey all. New to forum. Sold my 98 Toyota LC daily driver, looking at a 2011 rx 350 80k miles . When I do inspection, I read here to look at oil cooler lines. Anything else specific to these models beyond the basic things you look for? I read a ton of threads on here just want to see if I missed anything that may get overlooked. Thanks in advance for any advice.

For RX models older than 2014, the factory rear shocks tend to leak fluid after 50,000 miles or so. Look for wetness and grime on both of them.

You can view the dealer service history and factory build sheet at the Lexus Drivers Site. Join for free, and enter your VIN (you can do this without owning the car, I do it to research potential purchases)

Why did you sell your Land Cruiser? The handful of owners I have known during the past 30 years or so have always been very reluctant to part with them.

It was a very hard decision. Best vehicle I ever owned. Long story short, when I bought it, previous owner had kitted it out to offroad. I don't really offroad, but it was rust free and well-cared for so I bought it. That was fine, it was my daily driver for 4 years, but then we moved out to a place where I routinely do 2- 3 hour highway drives and I now have to do a monthly 12 hour road trip, so I sold because I'm doing so much more highway driving. The cruiser was great on highway but gas consumption was an issue. I definitely regret selling it, it was so reliable, the new owner drove it 17 hours to his home not a hiccup from a 1998 vehicle 200 k miles. Toyota knew what they were doing with these trucks. Now, looking around and these rx's seem like a reliable option for replacement so researching as much as I can.

I understand the fuel consumption dilemma. I love my 1999 Ram 5.9-litre V8, it has been an almost trouble-free workhorse since I purchased it in December 2000 with 16,000 miles on it (coming up on 72,000 miles now), but it gulps fuel so I only drive it when I need to haul supplies or equipment for my home improvement projects (I picked up some pressure-treated lumber just last week). For the last 7 or 8 years it has only averaged about 500 miles per year but I keep it because when I need a truck, I need a truck....

Looks like you found a nice one. Let me add to check if the ATF has been changed. If not then I’d get the ATF exchange soon after purchase. There’s a very informative thread in this forum covering that service. I’d have the coolant changed as well.

Thank you will add that to the list. I had researched the ATF fluid change as with my Toyota, there was some debate about whether to change that fluid or to leave it be. Much appreciate the response.
