I noticed this week the inner red plastic piece in both taillights seems to be coming off. I don't recall ever seeing a gap/split prior to this week. Does anyone else's taillights look like this? I'm guessing I'm SOL since it'd be very difficult to take apart the lens and get to the inner red piece.

Part of the red lens is pulling away? I've never had luck separating these combo lights the glue is too aggressive. Took a quick look on Ebay replacements are not super expensive.

Yeah, the red lens inside. Just wondering if that's how it came from factory because it doesn't look right.

My 2015 is the same way as in your pictures.
I've never noticed it before you pointed it out.
I'm not going to worry about mine because the red lens is inside the sealed outer clear lens.
I don't think it hurts anything, it's just cosmetic
There are aftermarket lights available, some people replace them just for the different look.

The red lenses inside my wife's 2015 taillight assemblies look like your photos as well (poking out slightly at the seams). Never would have even noticed it until you pointed it out. I also will just leave it alone. Hopefully just a cosmetic flaw that will not get worse. Time will tell.

Thanks everyone. Mine is also 2015. Not going to lie, it does bother me a little especially since it's a relatively new car and it's always garaged. Guess I'll just live with it.

It’s fairly easy to replace, you can do it yourself. However, these parts are no longer in production so if you leave it too late the only option would be second hand or salvage yards.
