2010 Steering Wheel Need More Telescope

My 2010 factory steering wheel seems like it is too far away from me even at full telescope extension. Does anyone else have this problem? I am 5'-11" and I sit with the seat slid almost all the way back and tilted fairly upright for athletic driving position. I have to extend my arms almost locked to maintain good driving posture. I cannot simply slide my seat forward because then my legs are cramped. It is awkward. Especially on long drives. I am curious if later 3G models or F sport models have made adjustments to this. Anyone that upgraded from a 2010 to a newer 3G have recollection of this?

Hello,
I'm a sponsor member.
Please take a look at our steering wheel spacer https://www.spacershop.com/en/produc...acer-lexus-rx/
We developed a product to bring the steering wheel further closer because we felt your same need years ago on another car.
You can ask here for any information, or write us via website.

What a great idea and it does move the steering wheel almost 2 inches closer (5 cm). With the current exchange rate it is about $270.00. I wonder what are the shipping costs to the USA.
The web site states it fits from 2015. I would confirm it fits a 2010 - which it probably does.

Take it to a local body shop. They do steering wheel replacement as part of their accident repairs and know how to deal with the airbag. Get a couple of estimates. I think they could take care of this in an hour. Also body shop hourly rates are less than mechanical shops and maybe there is a cash discount as most of their work is with insurance companies.

I don't want to send you on wild goose chase, but earlier model Lexus used to allow additional movement. Use the search and expand it to other models.
If I remember it right, you move the column out and it would eventually stop. You let go the switch and then engage the switch again and it would move out the steering an additional amount.
Your reluctance in messing up with the steering is valid. There are 3 things that are area of concern.
1. Air bag
2. Clock spring -- spiral ribbon.
3. Sheer bolts. They are designed to break away and prevent steering to be pushed in the cabin in an accident. This prevents the steering from ending ups in the driver's chest.
Side note ... Staged delay air-bag has reduced the injury to the driver by the air-bag, but I still advice people to sit back as much as possible. [increase the distance between the air bag and driver]. I understand the driver needs to reach the wheel, but sit back as far back as possible.

We have our exclusive dealer in California, 949 Racing. They can give you the same technical clarifications which I can make you here, plus you will save the shipment cost and the custom fee from Italy.
I'm quite sure the spacer will fir your 2010 car too. We do this since years, and we designed many Toyota/Honda and other JDM cars' spacers for cars since the early 90's.
Now we find out that with the spacers we already designed, we can cover any car, because when a car manufacturer makes a new model, it's used to keep the internals hidden components as long as he can. Plus, different car brands like to share hidden components (steering column, clocksprings, spline machining, the core of the steering wheels, the connectors...) and now it happens very often that we already have the spacer for a car which we didn't know yet it fit.

Me too when I have to install spacers on the customer car's. But it's doable.
Japanese car's are usually a bit better to work on. Late '90s/ early 2000s are the best.
Have a look at this video, this may be the spacer for your Lexus.
