2015 RX350 FWD approaching 83,000 miles.
My wife's RX appears to have a left rear wheel speed sensor or wiring harness issue right now (which I have previously documented here on the forum). I am working on figuring it out. However, the vehicle is due for its mandatory annual North Carolina safety and emissions inspection this month. As long as the MIL (also known as the CHECK ENGINE light) is off and as long as no more than ONE readiness monitor is still in INCOMPLETE status, the vehicle will pass its annual inspection. In the process of clearing some of the spurious OBDII codes yesterday, all of the vehicle's readiness monitors were also automatically cleared and after a few miles of driving late this morning, 4 of its 8 readiness monitors are still showing INCOMPLETE on my scan tool.
Some makes and models of vehicles only have to be driven 40 to 50 miles before all of their readiness monitors reset to OK status on the scan tool. Other makes and models must be driven hundreds of miles before all of their readiness monitors finally reset to OK status. And some makes and models have certain shortcut drive cycles that if you follow to the letter, your readiness monitors will all reset to OK status after just 15 to 25 miles of driving. Does anyone know if there is such a shortcut drive cycle for the 3rd generation RX? I want to go ahead and get this vehicle through its annual inspection so I can take whatever time is necessary to figure out and fix its left rear speed sensor issue without having to spend $1,000 or more.
